Turn the ideas in your book into more ways to attract clients

You’ve already done the hard work of creating your book. Now it’s time to make more of that thinking work for you.

Robert Greenshields – Authority Strategist & Ghostwriter

If you already have a book, you’ve done something most experts never do.

You’ve captured your expertise and thinking in a way that people can read, share and refer back to.

That gives you a powerful foundation for building your authority.

But there is much more your book could be doing for your business.

Your book already demonstrates your expertise and how you think. It gives potential clients a strong reason to trust you and helps them understand what you can do for them.

It can also open up new possibilities, from attracting the attention of the right prospects to creating partnership opportunities or opening doors to podcasts and speaking engagements.

The question is how to identify those opportunities and turn them into something useful for your business.

I help experts, coaches and founders take the thinking already captured in their book and develop it into other ways to attract clients and build their authority.

That might mean:

  • Developing a valuable idea from the book into a diagnostic
  • Turning your approach into a signature system
  • Creating a presentation or webinar
  • Developing a lead magnet
  • Creating regular client-attracting LinkedIn content
  • Developing several of these and connecting them so they reinforce one another

The point isn’t to produce more content for the sake of it.

It’s to identify what your book already contains that could do more for your business, and then turn those opportunities into useful, finished material.

This is more than just repurposing your book’s content

Repurposing usually means taking existing content and turning it into more content, for example, chopping a book into a collection of social media posts.

That’s not what this is about.

It’s about looking strategically at the thinking within your book and identifying where it could create value for your business and help you attract more of the right clients.

Repurposing asks:

“What else can we make from this content?”

The more important question is:

“What else could this thinking do for you?”

The answer might be another way of demonstrating your expertise, a useful resource for potential clients, or something that helps turn interest in your ideas into a relationship.

How I work with your book

You share your book with me, along with some context about the clients you want to attract and what you’re looking to achieve in your business.

I review your book with that context in mind, looking for ideas, insights, approaches and arguments that could be developed into useful opportunities for your business.

I’ll then show you what I’ve identified and recommend what I think is worth pursuing.

You might decide that one particular piece of work is the priority. Or there may be a case for developing several things from different parts of the book.

Instead of starting from a blank page every time you need something new, you have a substantial body of thinking to work from.

Once we’ve agreed the direction, I create the material we’ve agreed on, with your input and approval along the way.

Everything is based around your expertise, positioning and voice rather than simply reproducing the words that are already in the book.

And if I don’t think your book yet provides a strong enough basis to do the work properly, I’ll tell you before we start.

From book to authority asset ecosystem

Your book can sit at the heart of an authority asset ecosystem.

The important thing isn’t simply having several different ways of communicating your expertise. It’s the fact that they can reinforce one another.

The same core thinking can appear in different forms, reach people in different situations and give potential clients more opportunities to discover what you know, understand how you work and decide that they want to know more.

The book provides the foundation. Other work can extend the reach of those ideas, while your ongoing visibility keeps them in front of the people you want to attract.

Over time, this creates something much more valuable than a collection of disconnected pieces of content. It creates a body of work that continually reinforces your expertise, your positioning and your reputation.

You don’t have to build everything at once

There is no requirement to turn your book into a huge programme of work.

We can focus on one specific opportunity if that’s what makes most sense. Or, if the book contains enough valuable material and there is a good business case for doing more, we can develop a broader range of material from your book.

There is no minimum engagement. The scope is determined by what is useful, what your book contains, what you want to achieve and what you want to invest.

The aim isn’t to create more material simply because we can.

It is to create the right client-attracting authority assets for your business.

Couldn’t I just put my book into AI and create lots of new content?

AI can certainly turn the words in your book into more words.

But the valuable part of this work is deciding what is worth creating and why.

AI can help produce content. It doesn’t replace the strategic judgement needed to identify the right opportunities and decide what will actually help your business and attract the right clients.

You own everything we create

If we work together, everything we agree to create as part of your project belongs to you.

You can publish it, adapt it, combine it with other material, use it in your marketing or keep it for later.

You’re building a library of work that you can continue to use as your business develops.

What will you need to do?

Your main involvement is providing the context I need at the beginning, answering questions when necessary and reviewing the work as it develops.

Depending on what we create, you may also need to be involved in distributing or promoting the finished material. I’ll make clear what your involvement will be before we start.

Exactly how much time you need to contribute depends on what we decide to create, but you won’t be taking on another major content project yourself.

How long will it take?

The timescale depends on what we’re creating.

A focused piece of work will naturally be quicker than developing a broader collection of material from your book.

We’ll agree what we’re creating, what you’ll need to contribute and the expected timescale before we start.

What does it cost?

Most Book to Assets engagements fall somewhere between $2,500 and $7,500, depending on what we decide to create and how much development is involved. Smaller, focused pieces of work can cost less, while broader programmes can cost more.

We’ll agree the scope and price before any work begins.

Why work with Robert?

I’ve been a business ghostwriter for more than a decade, writing more than 100 books for experts, coaches and founders worldwide, along with lead magnets, LinkedIn content and information products.

Along the way, I’ve helped experts turn their thinking into books and then develop those ideas into other useful ways to demonstrate their expertise and attract clients.

I’m also putting this approach into practice with my own book, Rapid Authority Roadmap, using it as the foundation for a range of client-attracting authority assets.

“Robert Greenshields does exceptionally good work.

In the 15 years that I’ve been in this business, I’ve never come across someone as good as him.
